Finding a job can be one of the most important - and most difficult - things for a former felon to do.
Employers may sense an added risk and former felons may feel uneasy about new commitments and expectations. With preparation, tenacity and a positive thinking, these hurdles can be overcome.
Fair Shake is building and gathering tools for your success. Check out our tips, practice for your interview, and show off your breadth of skills and knowledge by creating a personal web page for employers to view. Prepare for everything: from a minor bumps to major opportunities!
Below you will see a list of the resources we have assembled and where to find them. Please take advantage of all we have to offer.

Which includes tutorials to use email and other member-area tools.
Personal Web Page
Your Personal Web Page is a comfortable environment to disclose the information you would like to share with people you permit to visit. Here you can introduce yourself, list your skills, your education (even outside of conventional classroom settings) and extended work history. You can also list your interests and hobbies, show photographs of your family, hobbies, accomplishments, certificates, link to scanned-in documents and provide relevant and important information not requested in many job applications.
Some people make hasty and incorrect judgments when they hear you are a
former felon. Your Personal Web Page lets others learn about you at
their leisure and provides an opportunity to make a personal connection
in a non-threatening way.
Fair Shake Membership Cards
Print to include with your application or take to job interviews! They have your name(what else) and the url (address) and password for your Personal Web Page. With this card, potential employers, property managers and others can find out much more about you than can be found on a simple job application.
Transition Support:
