How to hold a Books for Prisoners book drive:
- Pick the starting and ending dates that you will be collecting books.
-
Ask permission from site where you’d like to collect books, and inquire about location to hang fliers and put the book collection box.

Download the “Book Drive flier” HERE.
-
Fill in the dates and location.
-
Print as many as needed, along with “Book Drive Collection Box” signs.

Hang the fliers and place the box on the designated day.
-
Make an announcement to the public, membership, congregation in a newsletter, ad, church bulletin, or in person.
-
Clear books out every week and gather for shipping.
-
On the last day of the drive gather last books and the box, and remove all fliers.
-
Document how many books were donated for a “Thank you” to the supporters (location and individuals).
